We had a small group due to the start of Spring Break but we had a great showing at the McFarland Spartan Invitational this past Saturday. Despite high winds we were able to come away with quite a few personal records and a few medals. Here are a few highlights from this weekends action.
Boys Highlights and Results
- Michael Stephenson set a new personal record(PR) of 43′ 3.5″ in the Shot Put placing 2nd overall
- Garrett Smyth set a new PR of 12′ in the Pole Vault to finish 3rd overall
- Henry Hansen placed 4th in the 800 meter run narrowly missing his PR
- Ian Vize came away with a PRs in both the 1600 and 800
Girls Highlights and Results
- We had 3 girls qualify for the final of the 200m with Riley Larson placing first followed by Celia Ramsey and Izzy Blanchard in 4th and 5th
- Our girls 4×200 placed first overall with the team consisting of Parker Buske, Izzy Blanchard, Celia Ramsey, and Riley Larson which currently has them ranked 18th in the state
- Parker Buske placed first in the Lung Jump with a leap of 17′ 7″ and 3rd in the 100m
